I’ve heard this before, I wonder how they lose their minds. I might know why but I’m not sure.
I think Chess is a measuring game to see how intelligent you are. So therefore if you are a champion, you experience a whole lot of success. Then you lose your mind, because they don’t know how to handle it.
Bobby Fisher went SZ late in his chess career. He was still pretty much undefeatable up until he died.
What was Bobby Fisher like, how old was he when he was undefeatable. Did he play chess while he was sz?
Actually the SZ thing was just a rumor. People suspected him of having mental illness all throughout his life. He was very suspicious and reclusive in his twilight years also.
Maybe shouldn’t have said he was SZ.
He did play on chess.com shortly before he died though.
but then the opposite of complexities is boredom.the only answer therfore is relegion.but but…thats the delimma.nature is free from complexities.but only if you can let go of your desires and just embrace love, peace, and faith.
too much stress and excitment.your body gets exhausted from everything you do and so does your brain.breath in breath out lol . relax.heaven awaites as all.hahahah
Bobby Fisher is the only world champion I ever heard of who might have had a mental illness.
I was a kid when he was World champion back in the seventies. Back then, World championship chess matches were covered by newspapers. Bobby Fisher was like the rock star of the chess world, he was as famous as famous sports stars or movie stars. His matches against Boris Spatsky, the Russian champion, for the world title were epic and front page news. He was famous for psyching out his opponents.
Yeah, I’m not sure but I think Bobby Fisher was banned from entering the U.S. by the government. At the height of his career he was kind of the good guy, but later in life he became the bad guy.
I wasn’t aware of that. I’ve heard of geniuses who were insane, but not chess players.
Do you know the details of his visits to chess com?
I think this is the reference:
There may have been a more recent one but I’ll look later.
Many thanks!..
Ya. I’m more interested in the many, many math champions or genuises that go bonkers and lose their minds.
@anon28145038 did you ever see the movie Pi? Although I’m not aware if it’s based on a real person.
Yes, amazing excellent movie!
