Have you ever had an STI?

And which one/s and how was it like, including recovery?

I think I have gonorrhea

It can cause complications such as long term pelvic inflammatory pain and infertility.

Did you know that the STI syhillis it’s end stage can cause confusion dementia heart nervous damage and even death.

HPV does not usually show any symptoms and is common.

I have had infections in my ā€œlower areaā€ in the past. Nothing a few baby wipes cant take care of. Nothing serious.

When I was a teen, we are talking almost 40 years ago, I had chlamydia. If I remember right I took some antibiotics for it and that was the end of it. When I was young and very sexually active I was constantly being screened and I just got lucky I guess. As I got older and was in long term relationships I was screened yearly with my pap smears. I thought it was a good idea just in case someone went stepping out and brought something back, but no one ever did luckily.

Nice one about being so lucky. It is good you were constantly screened. That wud have helped to prevent any sti from remaining untreated which is one way dangerous complications develop.

I’m kind of feeling uneasy about ever having sexual activity again now as I don’t want sex with condoms. And I also just found out I have hpv. So that’s not good even for a long term partner. Something for Me to reflect on.

Nope. I haven’t. But my best friend has gotten a few. It’s unpleasant to say the least. Hers were treatable though, with the exception of genital herpes.

Yea you being with a monogamous long term partner whom u trust probably reduced your risk significantly.

Do u mind me asking wat symptoms u got.

22 years with no sti is brilliant

We both only experienced discharge - i know some experience more symptoms.

We got antibiotics and it wasn’t too bad.

I think we got lucky with a mild case.

If I do end up having sex with a woman I’ll tell her we need to both get tested beforehand, in todays hookup culture disease rates are on the rise. I hate condoms but I’m scared of diseases…I’m also mulling over getting a vasectomy so I don’t have to worry about pregnancy.

I’ve only ever had sex in relationships, and I’ve never caught a disease. But that was when I was younger and my gfs or women I fooled around with hadn’t been with many guys… My first gf and I were virgins so no risk there.

I have never had an STD/ STI.

My sister has genital herpes and HPV. Because of HPV, she got cervical cancer. She had most of her cervix surgically removed, so as far as I know, the cancer was removed with it.

My mum has had her whole womb removed because of cancer in there.
