This seems like an extreme situation if it’s true. Why would your doctor do that to you?

One of my first psychiatrists recorded me with a bunch of university students (interns?)

This was in the psych ward when I was high as hell with mania!

I wasn’t really aware of anything, I was that unstable

He was a very neglectful doctor.

He kept me manic for years by prescribing a powerful tricyclic antidepressant

He kept me very sick so that I would rely on him

Hmm he wasn’t taking notes during the meeting? That’s what mine does. He has a laptop open the whole time.

And all the crisis hotline calls are recorded here too

One time one of the men who follow me recorded my conversation with a new therapist I had just started seeing,

As I was leaving the therapist told me he was there in the other room.

He used his national security ID to gain access.

The therapist had to comply

Even if it was so, their intention would only be to remember more to provide better care.

But I don’t think they would do that without asking permission.

Im going to check with him next time and request he doesn’t because i can’t deal with things like that. Thats why i rarely ring crisis too because of that reason. Im paranoid enough without being voice recorded

I highly doubt you have anything to worry about.

However I have experienced that when I was in the psych ward all the staff I was in contact with made notes of what I said while in their care. I know this because I asked one of them about it when one of the other staff knew something I said to someone else without them being present. And they confirmed it was a routine they did with everyone on the ward. I’m not sure what the purpose was.

Anyways, I got a straight answer, it was routine and not directed towards me personally.

So I’m thinking either it’s paranoia, or they got some sort of routine going. Doesen’t hurt to ask though, to settle your mind.

I straight off confronted a nurse about that and accused her of just information seeking. Its like the mh here have a big pile of records on each patient, honestly thats enough to make anyone paranoid. There constantly monitoring a schizophrenic or other mi patient. Risk assessing

I don’t know but here where i live there isn’t much caring and compassion

It stands to reason to keep records on people with serious medical conditions. Not just mental illness, but other things as well. But the goal is to provide good and correct care.

I wish somebody would record me lol I want to see myself more objectively

My pdoc doesn’t make recordings but takes notes of everything I say that she deems important. It’s standard practice. All my pdocs have done so in Belgium.
