Has your mental illness gotten worse over time?

For me it’s hard to tell. Certainly its less acute than it was in my 20s but I’m left with chronic social difficulties.

Sometimes I think so, but then I look back on when I was young, and I realize I was pretty bad back then too.

Since December my psychosis has reached the worst it has ever been. I spent New Years in the hospital and they were talking about sending me to the state hospital. If the ECT hadn’t worked that’s where I’d be now. This coming Wednesday my pdoc is starting me on Clozaril in addition to the ECT. The positive symptoms have been intense. One good thing to come out of all of this is the services I’m now getting.
I’m doing Intensive Outpatient group therapy and I also just started Involuntary Outpatient Commitment which isn’t really involuntary but they call it that because the courts have to order it. It’s a case manager that’ll work to keep me out of the hospital but also help me develop the skills to be more independent.
I really hope the positive negative and disorganized symptoms start to chill out soon but I’m so grateful for all of the support I have. To everyone here who is suffering I hope you get some relief too. :sunny:

I still have negative symptoms, the worst of which is alogia. This basically is the only thing that is wrong with me. I still have positive symptoms, I can’t predict when they will come

I got much worse, but now I’m much better. I hope I’m not seeing the beginning of a pattern.

@Wave. Thank you!
