Has Your Hand Eye Coordination Worsened Since Onset

My hand eye coordination has worsen profusely since being schizophrenic and especially after haldol giving me Parkinsonism.

But I used to be able to be good at video games, but now I can’t compete as good.

Also, whenever I do electrical work on my house and before during my job, I had no coordination; it took me a lot more time to replace a light fixture, wire it correctly to make it a LED light. Pro tip: remove the ballast from the light fixture then you’re good to wire it back together with an LED bulb.

Anyway, my hand eye coordination has worsened considerably. Has yours, or did you notice any difficulty.

This is disconcerting for trying to improve it.

The best thing you can do to slow it down is to exercise your hands. I’ve got the little grippy things to improve my hand strength and that has helped. I also use chopsticks with both hands to try and maintain dexterity. I drop a lot of food with my left hand. LOL.

Yeah, when I go to gym, I exercise my hands and forearm strength.

But that’s not enough, so I’ll bring in my hand squeeze thing. Thank you.

I did PT/OT to improve my hand eye coordination. It helped a ton, and I learned what exercises to do when I am having struggles.

Yeah, I stopped played games because of it. I think it’s gotten better though, I write a lot due to studies and I also play occasionally

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Meds like Haldol can really mess with motor skills, and schizophrenia itself can have an impact on coordination. It’s frustrating when things that used to feel natural—like gaming or hands-on work—suddenly become harder. You’re definitely not alone in this.
