You don’t think I’m grandious do you?
No. I’m just adding my opinion about a movie. I was a big Pink Floyd fan growing up so read an aweful lot about them.
Haven’t watched it in a long time. I’ll have to watch it again.
I agree. I’m mainly afraid now though is that it will make my schizophrenia worse
I didnt like that movie.
I didn’t like it either
All I wanna know is who in the heck was the bricklayer who placed me in that wall? I’ve got a bone to pick with them.
Yeah i like a beautiful mind, the first time i couldn’t follow it and gave up at the start but the 2nd time i thought was brill
Have watched it. Even read Sylvia Nasar’s book.
Liked the movie. Book gives better idea about his life.
Can’t stand Russell Crowe.
Thought it was not a very accurate depiction either.
They took a lot of creative liberties with his story.
Great movie. Really put the viewer in John Nash’s shoes when experiencing delusions and hallucinations. Interesting how he mathematically analyzed. When he’s talking to himself while calculating whatever on the window, I interpret that as trying to compensate for having low working memory. Parts like that depict Schizophrenia realistically.
I like that film because I like John nash and his work. For example, game theory is applied in solving the game of poker.
I saw it way way way before I was diagnosed and I thought it was an average film.
I think a lot of people with schizophrenia like this movie because they’d like to think of themselves like the John Nash character.
The truth is “A Beautiful Mind” is basically a fictional story.
It’s a gross misrepresentation of any kind of regular schizophrenic’s day to day.
I find this saying a wonder
the movie K-PAX is better and older too
Oh! No! They don’t. Not everyone. Most people would know that John Nash was an outlier. Even non schizophrenics are not that fortunate or brilliant.
It is my experience, here on this forum, that members like this movie,
Despite it being an unrealistic depiction.
I think it’s because they want to have more similarities to it than they do.
That’s my opinion.
