I am in the process of getting ECT treatments three days a week for two weeks Then I will be on maintenance maybe one every two weeks or so for while. I have had a tiny bit in the short term memory loss but it came back. I don’t have anything negative to say about the treatment. I think it’s relieved some of my anxiety that I was having. Hey see anyone had any history with ECT treatment if so how were they? Did they help you?

In my case, ECT, didn’t do miracles and after some days I was like before ECT, but after ECT my meds which I wasnt reacting to , started, to work,
Have you tried clozapine yet?

If your a smoker watch out for panic attacks on clozapine.

No I haven’t and I’m trying to stay away from heavy duty meds like that I am on Geodon and wellbutrin. I am hoping the ECT will make them work better because I handle them well, no side effects .

I think ECT helped me in releasing and unburdening my unconsciousness I was struggling to. you feel refreshed but with a bad memory

I just had ECT today and I feel really good. My voices are mostly gone now as of two weeks ago. I only have good things to say about ECT. My depression has really improved too. I feel so much better. I am glad I am getting it. After one treatment a couple weeks ago I felt a little confusion and slow thinking but it was gone in two days. I recommend it to anyone that is suffering from depression that just wont get better on medications.

I know someone who got it. He had severe persistent depression that was totally unresponsive to treatment. It didn’t work for him and he lost a chunk of his memory. I don’t think I’d ever try it personally.

I’m going to look into it again. My previous doctor advised against it.
Do you know why he advised against it? I am surprised, especially if you have been seriously depressed.
Mine too. Seems alot think it’s just a plecebo effect. Haven’t talked to new doc about it.
