I like Prolixin but I read online if you use it for a long time, it can cause the eye’s lens to become opaque.
Has any one taken Prolixin for a long time like 10 years and had problems with his or her eyes afterwards?
How is Prolixin as far as sexual side effects for guys?
I haven’t taken it for 10 years, but I did take it for 4 years. In the beginning it worked as an antidepressant and antipsychotic (I was the weird one with paradoxical effect), but that wore out after a few days. It did stabilize my mood for a time even when I was drinking. Then it started giving me massive dyskinesia (I think thats how you spell it) and not only was I shaking but I was also slightly confused. But my memory recall was decent. I managed my symptoms for years with it until a new doctor did a DNA test on me and showed that Prolixin gave me more side effects than a few others, so I changed to invega. For now, though, I dont have insurance again and I am needing to see a doctor, so I am taking it again (without drinking anymore) and it is more effective without as much TD. I dont have much eye/ ocular problems other than myopia (chronic dry eye) and some memory problems. But no need to fret! I once talked to someone at work that took it and they had no side effects and it worked really well for them, though they havent taken it but for a few months.
