Has anybody's parents passed away

Has anybody’s parents past away. I’m wondering because sometimes people’s parents support you. Is there anybody on this site, who’s parents haven’t past away and they don’t support you.

My mother passed away, so it was me and my dad for a little over a year. Then he married my step mother.

My parents are still alive, but in their 70’s. I dread the day they pass away, I don’t really have anyone else.

I have a younger brother, and we get along fine, but he doesn’t understand mental illness and we really don’t have much in common. My mom was a nurse and took a course in psychiatric nursing, some of what she learned is out of date but at least she has familiarity with it so I can talk to her, I don’t feel like I can talk to my brother in the same way.

My parents had me young so are only 66 and 68(I think, I have a hard time keeping track of their ages) so should be around awhile yet. Especially my dad because he is very active and does not smoke like my mom.

I’m so sorry.

My sister and I didn’t like each other for years. I used to hate her. She used to want nothing to do with my MI. But now, somehow, we are friends, and she checks in on me to see how I’m doing. I wish that could happen for you.

My parents are young, too. I’m almost 49, I have an older sister, and my parents are only 74. But still, there’s something about when they cross that 70 mark that just smacks you in the face with their mortality. Or, at least, that was my experience.

Good to hear you patched things up with your sister. I know my brother is concerned about me, he would come visit me when I was stuck in the mental facility for 5 months, we don’t hate each other or anything, I love my brother, and we can talk about some stuff, but he is not very knowledgeable on these topics and doesn’t understand them. When I talk to him he is genuinely concerned but his advice doesn’t really make sense because he doesn’t know anything about this.

My Mom died in 2019 from advanced dementia, she was 87 years old.
I live with my 87 year old father and my brother who is 2 years younger than me lives close by to us.

I really don’t know what I’m going to do about my living situation when my father passes on.

Maybe I’ll live in supportive housing with roommates or live in this house alone or with roommates.

I get real paranoid when I’m by myself.

My brother once mentioned that I might live with him one day too.

My Father died and my Mother died a couple weeks later. They had been divorced for like 40 years or something. It was odd.

Both my parents have passed away, my Mother quite some time ago of cancer, my Father just a few years ago from complications after hitting his head

I miss them both sometimes

My dad passed about four months ago. I still have my mom. I talk to her every few days.
