Has anybody here ever done ancestry dna?

Has anybody ever done ancestry or any of the others? Have you found out anything interesting you like to share? Have you found any unknown siblings or cousins

I probably got it from my father’s side. We are originally syrians, don’t know where the Greek side came from? It was totally unexpected.

I’m Finnish from my mother’s side.

My parents did it. The kids got it for them. No one was surprised by anything.

Oh cool im half greek half english

Same here tbh didnt bring up anything special. But i did find some relatives that i didnt know about due to my father being estranged from his family

I’ve tested with Ancestry DNA. Also 23andMe,Family tree DNA,Living DNA,and My heritage

Current ethnicity results: Ancestry DNA England & NW Europe 42 Scotland 38 Ireland 15 Wales 3 Sweden 2. 23andMe British & Irish 89.3 French & German 9.6 Broadly NW Europe 1.1. Family tree DNA Ireland 39 England Wales, & Scotland 32 Scandinavia16 Central Europe 13. Living DNA Great Britain and Ireland 98.1 Finland 1.9 . My heritage Eglish 50.8 Irish,Scottish,& Welsh 32.1 Scandinavian 12.5 Finnish 3.2 Central Asian 1.4 .

As stated before; cousin matches are the best guide to your ancestral makeup. Genealogy as a hobby/interest ideally requires good organisational and planning skills. Both are most definitely not strengths of mine. Possible famous, distant relatives include Daniel Boone and Brigham Young. The latter had 55 wives!
