Paging @ifeelblessed
Why is it spelled Chanukah and Hanukkah?
two different ways of romanization like you guys wrote here is correct. also the ch in hebrew/jewish is often but not always pronounced like the german ch like schizornot wrote.
also, the h pronounciation is more eastern and the ch is more western.
hugs to y’all, judy
Hanukkah I think is a celebration of the day when the Jews defeated their oppressors the Maccabees in battle and according to legend during the fight a candle remained lit for 8 days. @ifeelblessed please correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s the deal on Hanukkah.
I am going to delete all off topic comments so we can refocus on the message of celebrating a holiday.
Haha thank you! Omg
Haha cute !!!
I always wanted to know how to play the dreidel game. Could someone tell me how it works? It always looked so fun, but I’veonly ever learned the rules from a 4 year old I was babysitting, so I must be missing some details.
Cool, thanks!!!
Oh, I get it now. Yeah, the 4 year old explained it correctly. My non-Jewish self couldn’t tell the difference between nun and gimel and was very confused why he kept getting to take all the candy and I kept getting nothing when it looked like the same letter to me.
Oh man! My family would love that game!! Looks so fun!!
@GoldenRex. I read somewhere that there are more Jews in the USA than there are in Israel. Who woulda thunk it?
What is the difference between the 7-candle and the 9-candle menorahs?
