Happy chanukah!

My background is Christian, but to me, the most significant thing to celebrate at this time of the year is the winter solstice, after which days will only get lighter and lighter (until the summer solstice). It’s on the 21st of December. I read the chanukah is also called the “festival of light” but does not always take place at the same time the solstice does.
