I have some Jewish blood in me, from my Great grandfather on my Mothers side, but I was raised Christian and presently am not religious -

Hanukkah is less commercialized than Christmas. 
That’s because a RELATIVE minority celebrates it?
If Chanukah didn’t usually fall so close to the Christmas holiday, I think most people wouldn’t be aware of the Jewish observance of Chanukah.

I also think it depends on where you live. There is a very very large Jewish community in the Seward park and Mercer Neighborhood in my city… the Jewish holidays get just as much shelf space and air time.
