My dr increased my rexulti that I take to 3 mg to try to decrease my overall levels of paranoia (this is in addition to my 30 mg olanzapine). She increased it so I’d not have to rely on my prn 5 mg haldol hopefully. I had a really bad day today though and after suffering all day, I finally took the PRN and I think it’s helping
Does anyone take haldol? What are your side effects? Does anyone take haldol and olanzapine together?
Lucky. I take a High dose of 1. Gen. And I have learned that the main reason that most studies comparing 1 Gen vs 2. Gen showed a favorable side effect profile for 2 Gen was because Haldol were prescribed in a dose of 10-15 mgs. When comparing doses of 1-2mg of Haldol with 2 Gen. the side effect profile were not clearly favorable for 2 Gen.
Yes, but only as a last-ditch PRN when I’m in the weeds. It hits me like a sledgehammer. It messes up my eyes so much I can’t do photography, my tongue sticks out, I shake and have tremors, I drool, I make weird faces, my hands twitch on their own, and it makes me want to sleep for 20 hours straight.
I don’t touch it unless I’m really in bad shape.
I have never taken it with Olanzapine so far as I know and I hope I never do. Holy hell would the two of them at once ever flatten me.
Haldol deadens me, and sometimes that seems like a desirable alternative, in very small doses. But I can’t write for ■■■■ when I am on Haldol. I think I would refuse it if they tried to put me on that drug again. If they tried to put me on a high dose I would move to another state. They use large doses of Haldol to torture mental patients in Russia.
I’m on the 1. Gen Clopixol depot at the lowest dose I’ve ever used namely 500 mg every 3 week with qutiapine 800 mg by mouth. Those two meds keep my mood swings down and only those can do that.
