Haircut? Will I be more likely to care for it?

I have to wash my hair and shower separately for reasons I won’t go into, but I find myself avoiding washing my hair because it’s so much darned work (that on top of the whole, “Ugh! Water!” thing…). I cut off about nine inches of it some time ago (a year? Not sure…) because it had gotten so difficult to manage, and now it’s back down to my breast area. I hate, hate, hate having to do it. I’m thinking of getting a haircut in the hopes that it will make it easier to manage, thus making me more likely to care for it. Thoughts? Or is this all just wishful thinking, and I will end up with a short haircut that I will hate and still no clean hair because it ultimately boils down to my sza?

Worth a shot. I used to have long hair for ages. Since being on antipsychotics I have kept it short simply because it’s easy to deal with. Like I’m a male and it’s not really an issue but it really is easier to look after.

I’m leaning towards something like this (my hair is naturally curly):

I used to have my hair at this length and it was easier to wash

I absolutely think you should cut it. I’m cutting mine all off just as soon as I can and I’m not even giving it a second thought. I’m sick of all the long hair everywhere in everything all the time. In my face, in my mouth, in my eyes. I’m sick of washing it and trying to brush it out and putting stuff in it. Forget it. As soon as I can I’m cutting it off even a little shorter than your picture.

Thanks for the input, y’all. I think I may do a good ol’ cut (and dye?) at the local cosmetology school on payday in March.

When I cut my hair, I suddenly started styling it every single day.

I bathe more because my hair gets greasy faster.

For me it’s because it now takes about thirty seconds to wash, and about two minutes to style. When my hair was long, it would take so much time to wash, then I had to either blow dry for fifteen minutes or live with cold wet hair for three hours, then I had to spend ten minutes brushing it, and another two minutes braiding it. Way too often I just piled the dirty mess under a hat.

I have short hair and STILL avoid washing it for many of my showers, which alone are a rarity these days.

I just have this belief that my hair looks best when it’s unshowered for 1 or two days.

They are two very beautiful hair cuts. You could try.

I’m talking 5 days, not 1-2. 1-2, and I’d be fine.
