They can get lost. I want nothing to do with them.
But does this stance permit a doctor to section me solely on these grounds?

Don’t push away your medical team. Maybe you should consider going to hospital voluntarily.
I’ve lost all faith in them. I play the game and they shift the goalposts when it suits them.
As long as your not a threat etc you’re free to discharge. That’s in England. Not sure if the rules are different where you are @anon35166066
Bottom line is if you don’t find it helpful a break from it may be needed. I have discharged several times, but always end up being back under their care due to med changes etc. and issues with med compliance.
GPs won’t deal with our type of meds I found. I discharged myself from the CMHT as they refused to give me a doctors appointment due to horrible side effects - I was told ‘I’d get over it’ - so I discharged myself and tried to get the GP to sort it out but he just re-referred me back to them. I complained and they sorted it out in the end
i think you got problems with meds atm so i wouldnt advise breaking contact with them, they are useful for you (or they should be) if they are not then you could ask for a new nurse but i thought you said it was a new nurse, try and bear with them for now until you get over this patch,
i was stable for 3 yrs and started college when i decided i didnt need them anymore, they kind of hinted it and i agreed, (felt like babysitting tbh) and i wanted to be in charge of my own life, i wasnt left on my own though, i can phone them up whenever i want for help but its harder to get another nurse if i wanted one. i see my p/doc as well,
but i think i found better support than them, i have this forum and i have all my friends and my Clubhouse.
you got to be at a certain level of recovery to discharge i’d say, if you are not then you’d be doing yourself no good.
Unfortunately noncompliance with the medical team or treatment is generally not looked upon favorably and can result in lengthened compulsory treatment time, or recommended treatment time if you’re voluntary. Even if it’s because your workers suck and it’s not your fault, the patient gets penalized. Annoying huh.
I think maybe you need a med adjustment. I don’t know you, but you are writing like I do during a psychotic break. Don’t let your illness make you refuse treatment. So far you have been doing everything right and staying above water. Ask for another med or a raise in dosage.
I’ll make a deal with you if you are up for it. You ask about adjusting your meds and be honest with your team next visit…if you do then you get to remind me to be honest with my nurse and therapist about my returning psychosis this Friday.
