Guys I'm like in love with my new medication

So far I am seriously liking risperidone. Like a lot. It’s only 2 in the afternoon right now, and I’m not supposed to take it again until 8PM, but I already want to take another one. I really like the way it makes me feel, like I am all fluffy and lazy inside. Maybe it’s been so long since I slept well, it just feels almost recreational, like sleeping is similar to getting high, or something. I also feel more evened out now, it’s even better now on the 4th day, just keeps getting better. I can just go outside and sit in the sun for 20 minutes and enjoy it. Just sit there and enjoy existing. It reminds me of weed from years ago in a weird way, I guess minus the paranoia and music that would go off in my head. I have no need for anything, not even food, I don’t get hungry anymore on this medication. I’m just completely comfortable, but still want to take more of it. The last three nights I have looked forward all day to taking it. Last night my mother’s husband commented that I seemed kind of drunk. I felt kind of drunk. But in a good way, minus the slurred speech and falling down stairs. I could seriously spend the rest of my life just blown back on Risperdal and chilling in the sun.

I love Risperdal also - Ive been on it for close to 10 years or so.

I may have to get off of it soon though, because its messing with my Hormone levels.

Not looking forward to going on a New AP.

Glad you like it so far.

Risperidone killed my sex drive. I also had a psychotic episode on it and had to be hopitalized.

Are you SZ or SZA? I’m wondering if me being SZA is allowing it to produce such lovely results, like I’m just riding the hypomania wave with no psychosis or anxiety.

Or an even better plot twist, I’ve never had SZ, it’s been Bipolar 1 the whole time, and my psychiatrist has given me the wrong meds. All your serotonins are belong to me.

I’m Sz…

Going for a reassessment at The Royal Mental Hospital here in town. I’m glad the meds are producing good results for you. Just thought I’d share the pitfalls I had with that drug.

Have you been on anti-depressants before, and if so, did they cause you the same side effects?

Glad its working for you,

Risperidone and Abilify= Low libido, weight gain and lethargy…for me anyways.

Latuda just killed me with side effects so I went off it recently.

Funny how everyone’s different. Risperidone tripped off a major depression for me, and I’m SZA. My drug of choice is Abilify. Works great for me.

That is good news @Turnip. I am happy for you.

Side effects from the meds in one person don’t show up in another. I’m so glad this is working so much better for you than Letuda! Woohoo!

Sounds like how I feel lately on Latuda 100mgs.
I’m glad you are liking your new drug. Risperidone makes me drool.

If you ever take your medicine not as prescribed and your pdoc finds out he probably will take you off the med. Follow the guidelines in the prescription.

Be careful with Risperidone, Turnip. When the dose of Risperidone is more than 2 mg, you will get anxiety, blurred vision and agitation from it. I had been on it for 3 years. I got depression, blurred vision, a bit weight gain, and a difficulty speaking from it. I took only 1 mg daily.

One good thing with Risperidone is it won’t affect much your cognition. I was able to read and write for 5-6 hours each day when I was on it. I completed my PhD thesis during that time.

Like for phamaco-nerd humour. A turnip after my heart … giddy!

Is it puppy love or is it the real thing?
