Thanks @TheCanuk . I’m hoping to get more time with him for sure. I will be paying attention to his quality of life though. I want him to be able to enjoy things still.
We gave him his IV fluids tonight. He flinched during insertion and didn’t like when we raised the speed of the drip. So we’ll likely get smaller needles and do a slower drip for his comfort, he will get them everyday for the next 10 days
You are being a good Mom to him @anon92321969
Yes unfortunately kidney disease usually comes with aging.
I’m glad that you will be spending quality time with him.
Thanks @Wave I have a friend who has tons of medical experience with dogs. She’s going to help me get iv bags for less money, and is giving me tips on how to best give him the iv without hurting him, plus tips to keep him happy for now
My Dog is close to 15 and almost blind and deaf she has cataracts but it’s too expensive to have them removed and I don’t want to put her through it with being put under anesthesia for it I love her dearly and will miss her when and if we have to put her down I know this is going to sound cruel but when she crosses the rainbow bridge I hope she passes on here at home I think it would be hard on me to put her down or harder to do. My other dog is a pug/weenie, and she is close behind her sister in age I know you care for your fur baby a lot I get it I love my animals more than I do people and this is a true statement or I wouldn’t of made it kudos to you for taking care of your fur baby they are just like our family members.
