I think my cat used to be an outdoor cat because he always tries to escape the house when I come or go. I have been scared, especially since I moved last October and now live right on a busy main street.
I had actually taken him like two months ago, but after the vet tech took him back for 10 minutes, they came out and said they ran out of microchips. So, he didn’t get microchipped.
Last week, I got paid and I was like now is the time! I had Alexa remind me to take him in after work (negative symptoms always make me forget or push back things I need to do, but having an Alexa remind me kinda helps).
I took him in to the vet (after calling to make sure they had microchips in stock) and after like a 20 minute wait and 10 minutes in the back, they brought him back out, microchipped! He came with a little collar tag, stickers with barcodes, and a mini instruction manual on how to register him.
There’s apparently no universal registry for registered pets, though, so that does concern me. Still, if he takes off I will feel that I did the most I could.
Here’s his pic! a little blurry so he’s not too recognizable, which eases my paranoia about being outed on this site.
