She was wonderful… She is going to file a motion to fast track everything… Since I have a kid she said this should put me at the front of the line for a hearing…if my first appeal is denied she’s going to call and try to get the appeal approved though… Shes gonna get me better insurance and file to approve family first and get us foodstamps… I couldn’t be happier with her… She said since I can articulate specifics on my problems she should have no problems with getting my disability approved and very quickly… She said she felt extremely sorry for me on account of knowing I’m losing my mind… She said it seems like its easier if your ignorant to it… If I could cry I might have…
This is really good news @flameoftherhine!
Seems promising.
I wish you all the best!
Oh wow, she sounds great! Best of luck to you!
That’s awesome, @flameoftherhine! I was denied for disability but I also found a good attorney and everything worked out for me. Glad you seem to have found a good one. Hope everything goes through quickly for you.
That’s really good news @flameoftherhine I hope you get things sorted out in record time!
same, flame. good luck, bud.
All the best:) Glad you found a Lawyer that seems to really care.
Thank you for the well wishes and support…maybe life will be better here shortly…its actually very difficult at the moment… I’m running on just enough aps to keep out of the crazy house… Probably 1 every 3rd day…just enough gaba so I have a couple when I can’t walk…just Enough Valium to use during extreme anxiety… It was either buy full scripts or have no electricity or rent money… So I had to borrow money to buy partial scripts… Some days I don’t eat so the little one gets his belly full…I don’t mind starving myself aslong as he eats… No sleeping meds is hurting a lot…but hopefully this is all fixed soon…
Well that sounds good. Are you currently on disability and you are just going to try and get a little more money? The other reason that I’m try to get a job is that disability seems like it doesn’t pay you that much. Also I remember the post you did about not being able to afford your medication. Hope everything works out for you.
It sounds like you have a good disability attorney. Make sure she knows that money is currently so tight that you can’t afford your necessary meds, that you sometimes don’t eat so your little one can, etc. Hopefully, this helps with your attorney’s plan to fast track the disability process. Good luck!
Disability attorney really is way to go. They know all the ins and outs of the other aid, housing and community programs plus part-time work information if you desire it later. Can keep you from getting in trouble later so listen to everything he/she tells you about handling life after you get approved…All cities/towns have different catches, scams and predators so attorney’s stories can be invaluable to navigate a sometimes-mine-field. Also, know never to get angry with your mental care or even too critical of your care as you can be locked up over weekend in mental hospital at your own expense for ‘attitude adjustments’. So if frustrated with care at the country clinic, talk to the office manager and ask to check out different DR/therapists. Can also start checking out different mental care providers if things don’t suit you and just move your care elsewhere. Just cancel next appointment with troublesome mental care and transfer your old medical records using a release signed at the new care provider…Everything can be REALLY good if you are calm and passive. If you run into staff who are mistreating people, you might quietly check out different care providers. Sadly, the millennial to local govt clinic started to hire are too messed up themselves to really act professionally in MASSIVELY IMPORTANT SITUATIONS for their clients but a check of other mental care clinics who do not have case management found me MUCH better care with professional behaving staff. Is bad sign if the care staff start to contradict themselves by telling you two different things…means you are better off changing care providers soon.
All good info thank you… Her fee is 25% of back pay up to 6k but she will pay all fees for my case because she is confident I will get it… Usually there’s a 300 travel and expense fee for records and such but she waved it due to financial situation.other lawyers around want a larger fee upfront plus 25% back pay… She was almost in tears about it all… I also liked her office wasn’t filled full of expensive things like most lawyers she seems to really care about her clients
Thats awesome it’s always good to hear news like this that there are good people out there.
I’m so glad things are finally starting to look up for you! You deserve to catch a break.
