Goodbye Risperdal Hello Abilify

Officially switching to Abilify - eliminating Risperdal completely, too many physical issues.
I was on it years ago for a while, but was taking Tegretol with it, which interacted with the Abilify and made the Abilify less potent.
I am no longer taking Tegretol so maybe it will work out better for me this time around.
Crossing my fingers!

I think respiradone seems to decide the community. Some folks say it is amazing. Others suffer intolerable side effects. Personally I hated it - I mean it is an atypical but I sure got a lot of movement disorders from it.

I too returned to a med I had tried in the past (quetiapine) and got significantly better results the second time round.

This is good to know, that the meds worked out better for you the second time around Jimob - makes me feel better about it - thanks!

Hated risperdal. It made me terribly depressed and it was expensive. it was the ‘new kid’ after closaril when I took it. I went back on a typical rather than suffer with it. The only thing bad about abilify in my book is the price. My insurance makes it ‘free’ in the new year, so that makes it even better. Best of luck with it.
