A favorite philosopher of mine is Marcus Arelius. He follows the Stoic Philosophy. The stoic philosophy is something I’ve always been attracted to.
I don’t know about the toughness part. In my opinion toughness and manliness are kinda overrated. I will say I’ve always been of the mind it’s important to be tough. It seems I’ve enduredI guess a lot but I don’t necessarily few ‘tough.’ He was king so at the very least it’s vital to project toughness. I just don’t like the term manliness.
A little bit ago I went on YouTube and watched the 50 rules of a stoic. It turns out about 45 of them I already practice. The only few I don’t practice are the ones having to do with death. I’m going to start practicing that more. The philosopher I watched said it’s always better to play on house money. It’s also true in a sense that from dust we came to dust we shall return.
Anyway who are some of your favorite philosophers?
My all-time favourite would have to be Epictetus, a Greek stoic philosopher. There is a small book of his writings called The Art of Living. I would highly recommend it
He is very to the point and direct, saying a lot with few words
Lao Tzu’s philosophy advocates naturalness, spontaneity and freedom from social conventions and desires . In the Tao, which means the way, Lao Tzu refers to the ultimate order of things and ultimate basis of reality
Mrs Arelius must have been very happy. My doctor is the best philosopher I know. It’s always exciting meeting her. I can’t remember all the names but they left a legacy behind. Aboriginals are the best philosophers. Wish I could speak their lingo, but great they are clever and learned English as well. I learned very much of them. Tragic what happened.
I like to watch philosophy videos on YouTube. I don’t like Shopenhouer or people who say they like being alone. I bet they weren’t always alone, it’s b.s., nobody likes being alone 24/7. Shopenhouer had his poodle.
