I need a cut with layers. My hair is super long now.
My mom wants me to cut a lot off. My husband wants a couple inches off.
I was thinking about only an inch off but with better layers.
Not sure what I’ll do

You have beautiful hair. You could leave it as is since it looks very nice. If you want a change, I would go with your idea of only cutting one inch and you could discuss your idea of layering with your hairdresser and get their opinion.

I think a layered cut would look really good on you, @LilyoftheValley . 
And I don’t think long hair is ever “wrong” on any lady. Do what makes you happy.
I used to get stylish haircuts but now I’m pretty thin on top so I just get buzzcuts.

I used to let my hair grow down to my waist and then get a butch cut. Then start the whole process of letting it grow all over again. Now, I just keep it short for ease.
