Going out finally

So we actually have cafes and restaurants open for a max of 10 people. Today is our payday so the old man and I booked in at this new eatery for 7 am breakfast. One other person ate by themselves otherwise we had the place to ourselves. One waitress. One cook. A sign of the times but it was nice to eat out for a change…

I had savory mince on potato rosti with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and toast. Very nice meal and a rather interesting experience.

I have been out to eat three times now since we have been able last Friday. Took the dogs tonight. They hadn’t been in months.

It’s good to get out. The restaurants are all dead and no wait. Most people are staying in I think.

My son is a bartender and a waiter at a sports bar. He is fine on unemployment right now but when the federal government’s kicker ends in July he will be in trouble.

Hopefully they extend the extra unemployment benefits. I don’t think the restaurant industry is going back to normal anytime soon.

He may have to find a new line of work.

Yeah it’s hard in retail. We’ve had some decent government support but agree. It’ll be a changed landscape for sure for a while. It is nice to eat out though and not worry about cooking here or cleaning up. Don’t mind supporting local business rather than the usual Maccas and other franchises.

What you ate sounds amazing!!! I miss cooking for myself a nice meal. All I’ve been having is soup soup and soup. Day 3 and I’m really tired of it!

I live in Australia :australia: too.:slightly_smiling_face:

I have not been to a cafe or restaurant yet.

I have gotten take away though.

As soon as the shops reopen I’m getting my tongue pierced.
