I joined a flying club like I said earlier. They have a light sport aircraft so you can fly it without an FAA medical. I have done some maintenance on the plane but Thursday the 28th I am finally going to fly it. Hopefully it doesn’t take me too long to get checked out in it so I can start flying it by myself.
I left my last flying job in 2008 when I got sick so it has been over 9 years since I was proficient at flying. Hopefully it’s like riding a bike and I pick it back up quickly.
I love flying planes!! But in the last several years it’s only been combat flight simulators which I’ve been playing for about 14 years now so I got thousands of hours on them
i believe you can’t get a pilot’s license in the Uk with a history of mental illness or schizophrenia at all, so lucky you. I don’t think you can even skydive with sz in the UK.
I dreamt once that I owned a small helicopter and I flew around in it everywhere. And when I awoke, I thought that I really owned a helicopter at one time. For the longest time, I thought that I owned a helicopter at one time. Then, I finally figured out that it was just a dream. One of the coolest dreams I’ve ever had.
I went flying yesterday. Got cancelled for weather on Thursday. Was a little rusty. The instructor is going to be out of town until Jan 8th so I can’t go again until then.
He says two more flights and he will sign me off to go by myself but I think it’s going to take longer than that. We shall see. It was fun.
I have a commercial pilots license. You need an FAA medical to pass it. I can’t pass one but you can fly as a light sport pilot with just a drivers license.
I have a drivers license so I am an over qualified sport pilot. Interpretation of the rules is required as far as self grounding yourself.
Well, it’s awesome you can still fly! So you already got your FAA license, and as long as you don’t try to take another you can have the sports one. Smart!
