Giving an ultimatum

I’ve had it with clozapine. I’ve decided to give my pdoc an ultimatum the next time I see him at the end of the month. If he doesn’t start taking me off of clozapine I will take myself off of it. I am perfectly fine staying on my Abilify but I refuse to stay on clozapine.
Note: I am only at 200mg clozapine and it is currently not beneficial at all but is still giving me side effects

What side effects are you getting?

High cholesterol, sedation, weight gain, drooling that I choke on when I sleep, it makes me shaky, and it also makes me super constipated

Wow! I don’t blame you for wanting to stop it. Maybe ask if there’s a different AP that you could take alongside your Abilify

I used to be on 400 mg of clozapine. Currently I take 12.5 mg (next to Invega).

Be prepared to reduce it slowly and struggling to sleep. At least that was my experience.

I can relate to your situation with the Clozapine I too find it totally unacceptable with the weight on Seroquel so I’m going to ask the doc to take me of Seroquel:

Respect and obey your pdoc! They give you meds for a reason.

I do respect my pdoc but if I obeyed them at everything they said I wouldn’t be where I am now.

I’ve been taking clozapine for 3 years.
I have no problem

I didn’t go past a week on clozapine because of side effects.
