Give me the truth, does geodon even work?

I have been taking this for a month now and even tho my voices are still quiet my voices were quiet for the 3 weeks I was off meds in between switching also so I am thinking they might jus be permanently quiet but if not is there a chance they can come back on Geodon???, I see a lot of people hate Geodon and even tho I don’t want to take any other antipsychotics because they all seem to cause weight gain and I worry and stress about my weight all day long what if I am better off without meds completely since the voices are quiet, I don’t know really but I wish there was nothing wrong with me so I didn’t have to take meds but why does it seem like Geodon doesn’t work for any of you

i got extreme anxiety on geodon, uncontrolled eye movement tardive dyskinesia for 10 years now

sedation too on 40 mg not on 20 mg but it was one of the worst anti psychotics i was on for few weeks

I did just fine on Geodon for the better part of a decade. I was switched off it to Rexulti at the request of my cardiologist as I have a fairly serious heart condition. The Rexulti isn’t working as well for me as my Geodon did. I have continual positive symptoms now and I’ve had to put a lot of effort into coping strategies (CBT, mindfullness, etc.).

I’m still functional and working full-time, but wish I was back on Geodon. It’s a miracle med.

Are you still on a sub theraputic dose of rexulti?

I’m doing pretty well on Geodon. It’s quieted my voices and my paranoia has gone down.

Yes, Geodon works for some people.

Everyone’s chemistry (or the goblygook that makes us us) is different (if we were all the same we’d only need one AP), so every AP works for some and not for others.

I’ve been on Geodon and Seroquel for over a decade now. They control my symptoms and cause the fewest side effects of any psychotropic drug I have ever been on, and I’ve been on a lot. For me, Geodon has been a godsend. I still wish I didn’t have to take any drugs, but as long as I do, Geodon is what is best for me.

I consider Geodon to be a miracle drug. It has very few side effects compared to other medications, and it takes away the hallucinations. It is the best drug for my particular brain chemistry.
