Geodon definitely is helping somewhat because earlier this month before I was on it when had this messed up sleep I was spiraling into psychosis and highly out of it and now I am still pretty normal just very tired. I do hallucinate occasionally and I have been arguing with one of my voices today but it’s nothing abnormal, it’s very average for me. It’s not getting extreme like it was last time. So it is doing something but I do still need to go up a dose because I am still getting symptoms, and at night I’ve started to get some paranoia only it is not very strong and I can reason through it. I really hope going up the dose will not start giving me side effects.
Aside from sleep I’m really doing amazingly well. I’m going to class every morning, paying decent attention, eating 3 balanced meals a day, I’ve started going to the gym, my mood is great, etc.
Could be! I think I’ve only been on it for like 2 or 3 weeks. So it could make sense that now I am starting to see positive effect and it will increase as time goes on. I’ll see what my APN has to say.
thats great. you weren’t doing well not too long ago. glad the meds are working. my doctor just increased my meds because i had a serious flip out the other day
For me Geodon was more activating it made me want to engage with my environment. If course I was on much higher doses so my experience was likely different to yours. There were few side effects, drowsiness and tremors were the extent of them. I was also very delusional, Geodon has lower efficacy for psychosis than other antipsychotics, about equal to Seroquel. After 3-4 months I was ready to move on from this med.
That’s what it feels like for me too, that I really want to engage and do a million different things. Like I have motivation now that just wasn’t there before.
I hope it eventually works well for my psychosis. I know Abilify didn’t cut it for me. But this one has no side effects for me so I’d love to stay on it…
