Give It Up

So if I sold all my equipment, I could pay my bills, (not much left over) and retire on disability, It would be less stressful and maybe I could find something I could do from home to make a little extra. I think you are allowed to earn 500.

The day is near anyways, that I will have to give it up. maybe I should just throw in the towel and do it now, It also means moving to a cheaper place and a less secure lifestyle.

The future terrifies me.

If I could retire now, I would, @Mountainman. I would miss my students, but I’m just so tired all the time now.
I vote retire if you’re sure you’d be ok without the “push” of your job keeping you moving along. Good luck in your decision!

Arthritis is just getting to be to much and it would take most of this year to put myself in a position to quit

Unfortunately I do not know enough about your situation to give you specific advice.
I can say that in most cases, better to take calculated decisions than hasty ones.
Anyway I wish you luck whatever you choose to do.(to mountainman)

If you can do it and stay healthy then I would absolutely do it!

You know your situation better than anybody else. If you think you can retire and be stable, then I say why not go for it? Best wishes in whatever you decide to do.

Minimalism for mental health. Look into minimalism and living a minimalist lifestyle. We did that for mental health and I realize that everything you own takes up space in your mind somewhere because you have to take care of it store it find it or even remember that you have it at all and it blocks all the good things out from being seen and experienced. We did this and gave things away donated them and sold them about 75% of our possessions … and moved into a smaller home and it’s a good thing we did because I was deteriorating and eventually I ended up not being able to work. So I can’t imagine becoming so sick that I can’t work and then trying to still keep up a home in the requirements like cleaning maintaining and taking care of so much we have very little to take care of now and my drawing books and important things are set up so I can reach for them and see them and my scenery and environment is simpler and easier to navigate through . Although someday I hope I can be well enough to manage my illness and do something cool again as a job and still live simple and be able to have some sanity and function. Minimalism hasn’t fixed everything but without it I would be much much worse then I already am comma I enjoy but for now just surviving period I can’t imagine even try to keep up with our large home and pool and stuff. Life’s too short to be complicated. Minimalism may help facilitate joy.
