Getting the stimulus soon!... The first two

I was doing my taxes and I’m also supposed to get the first two rounds of stimulus on my tax refund.

I missed them because my parents claimed me as a dependent. But something changed on my taxes this year I guess.

W00t!!!

Lucky you are getting that so fast. For most everyone else it is supposed to come with their taxes. IRS just accepted mine this morning. Will be 21 days.

not everyone knows this: but if you didn’t get the last stimulus check and you are not a dependent on anyone else’s tax return you can file a 2020 tax return.

The good news is that the new stimulus is also going to dependents so for the adults that were left out of the first round should get the second round of payments. The whole roll out of the stimulus was pretty inefficient IMO we should have done like Canada in the USA and had everyone able to get monthly payments.

The whole point was to avoid poverty, homelessness, death and economic depression.

same here they approved mine, but it may take a bit longer for them to process it and for it to be available in your bank account or mailed. Mine is approved but I might not get the actual funds until March.

According to my research adult dependents {like those on disability} are not eligible. However I hope I misread something and am wrong about that!

If you are disabled I thought you could still get stimulus payments, and Im pretty sure the next package will include adult dependents. I am neither on disability nor a dependent, but I didn’t receive the last stimulus check the IRS messed up that is why I am getting it on my tax refund.

How old are you? We’re you claimed as a dependent on 2019 but not 2020?

Im 32 and I was not claimed as a dependent in 2019 and had to mail in my tax form to the IRS because they wouldnt let me file online it was a whole headache.

I hope the new administration is better at getting more relief out to people. But most people I know who had more income got the $600 like my brother in NYC he got the stimulus checks no problem and he’s got a good job I was going to go to college and start working but the pandemic cut that short. I didn’t get the $600 second payment.
