I did invega injections for a year or two. It helped stable me somewhat from my drug induced psychosis. I kinda looked forward to them but also had a sick feeling about them right before. Never had any major issues with them though.

I take pills but a different med as well. My goal always was to eventually get back on the invega pills. About two years ago though I requested perphenazine. Since switching, the voices have gone away as well as other symptoms and most side effects. I was on invega for 14 years. It got miserable at the end though.

What does perphenazine do fo you?

It’s taken away most my symptoms without severe side effects. Before on invega and every other atypical antipsychotic I always heard voices, had bad thought broadcasting, ideas of reference, and paranoia. Invega side effects were weight gain, libido dysfunction, worrying constantly, and feeling kinda soft. I have almost no side effects on perphenazine, my focus is better and I ended up losing 30lbs(took an antidepressant for a bit and gained it back but I’m off it now). So the only med I take is perphenazine. The weirdest thing is I don’t have voices so I don’t have that worry or thinking about stuff all the time. I almost feel like I should worry more or have more existential angst type thoughts but I don’t. That’s the only weird thing. I don’t have that analytical self worry thing. Akathisia was also terrible on invega. I don’t even have to take anything for it with perphenazine.

It was really kinda shocking to me when I got on it. I stepped out of the car one day and realized how quiet it was. I think it’s gotten even better the longer I’ve taken it. I had been on antipsychotics for 14 years and figured the symptoms were gonna always be there like they were. I definitely don’t want to miss doses or quit taking my drugs anymore.

My doctor wants me on Invega. I don’t want injections. :grimacing:
