Getting a tattoo

I really want a tattoo , it’s between Japanese cherry blossoms or a feather and on my lower arm my mother is dead against it saying it will affect my job prospects ! :smiling_face:I’m gonna get one though

You could always get it somewhere else. But a lot of jobs are okay with tattoos now a days, so many people have them.

If it was going to be your face or neck I’d have concerns as well but it’s not most jobs are fine with tattoos as long as you can cover them up

I think you’ll be fine

This is fake I’m just experimenting with how I’d feel with a tattoo there. I have to be 100 sure.

Lol, job prospects.

I’m a librarian with ink. My director has more than me!

I have a tattoo there of almost that exact size just a bit closer to my wrist. I am employed. I say go for it. If your job cares about it then there are so many products to cover it up, from makeup to nude tattoo sleeves to just plain long sleeve shirts.

Tattoos are expensive here where I am. I met one younger woman recently, she had many tattoos, one larger tattoo cost 700 euros, she was full of tattoos. She told how she had lived in some forest in Pennsylvania for three years. Now she lives in a house in my little town. She told that one can get tattoos less expensively in tattoo festivals.

The one I want will cost around £250 expensive but I don’t want to budget for their art. It’s worth it.

Can you save up over time so you can get what you want?

Yes I’ll wait a few weeks before committing.

I have tattoos on my neck, hands, and fingers and my job prospects are very open. There’s only a few career fields that REALLY have a problem with tattoos, and even then it’s not a sealed deal. I would probably struggle to find a job as a trial lawyer, but then again I never wanted to be a trial lawyer. :person_shrugging:

My honest advice on getting a tattoo is to to think long and hard before you get it done. Size is a problem sometimes even more than that placement is a real problem and often you don’t have a critical perspective on the project until it’s been done and it’s a tattoo. It’s permanent! I regret most of my tattoos. I got them when I was excited and hypomanic.

Just don’t want you to have regrets.

Ps your temp tattoos are lovely so I trust your taste in art. That’s not my point.

I got a tattoo once and it was a regret but I was lucky I was able to
Get it removed ! I can’t say why I removed it as the topic is not allowed.

Yeah tattoos don’t affect job smear as much as they used to. My work only bans face and throat tattoos. I have neck tattoos, lol, they’re behind my ears and on the back of my neck
