Geodon withdrawal symptoms

I tried Geodon 1 and 1/2 months ago and went off it quickly. However over the course of the past month I still gained 4 pounds and had 2 fevers. Now I’m having violent anxiety and nausea every time I eat something. I can only eat white bread without barfing. I’m on Latuda now but haven’t had problems on it before. However every month my symptoms all seem to change and the doctor has no idea so just lets things be. He wants to switch me to yet another med but I really want to just keep Latuda… My point is, does Geodon have withdrawal symptoms? Eating is so hard right now.

Geodon does have withdrawal symptoms, but if you were only on it a short time, it’s unlikely you would still be having problems.

Yes, going off geodon was an absolute nightmare and I had the same thing, couldn’t eat at all, anxiety through the roof. But you quit it over a month ago and are still having withdrawal? I’m confused.

Whatever you do don’t quit cold turkey because that makes it intolerable. What I did was I think for like a week I started taking my dose with less than 500 calories. That means only 50% of it is absorbed, so even though I was taking 40 mg it was more like 20. Then I started taking 20 mg…and eventually 20 mg with less than 500 calories so it was like 10 mg…and then I went off completely. Made things much easier. Was still really unpleasant though, I had to take klonopin constantly and it gave me crazy mood swings.

I’m never going on geodon again even though it was really helpful w many of my symptoms. Too scary.
