Geodon and chest pains?

I take Geodon, and I’ve been getting chest pains lately. They’ve been fairly mild, but they’re starting to get my attention. The last time I saw the doctor he asked me if I had chest pains, and I said no. I didn’t want to take the time to talk about them. Can Geodon cause chest pains? Seems like I heard a couple of people on this site say that. If it can, are they serious?

Chest pains are always serious. That’s why your pdoc wanted to know if you get them.

According to pdrhealth Geodon can cause: “Changes in the electrical activity of your heart, with symptoms such as chest pain, fast or slow heartbeat, shortness of breath, and dizziness or fainting.” I’m not sure how serious this is, but it sound pretty serious. You might want to call your doctor. While I was on a high dose of the AP seroquel it messed with my heartbeat and made me black out sometimes. I always after those symptoms showed up, but normaly I was stabilized but that time (out of psychosis).

This applies to all AP’s, they can effect the electrical activity of your heart. Be careful while you walk around since you could blackout. Talk to your pdoc.

I think that would be serious even if you didn’t take medication, but Geodon is known to cause heart problems. I would go see someone immediately.
