Latuda is making me fat and crave sugar! 15 lbs in 2 months. But it works?! Help?!

Eat something that suppresses appetite. Latuda should be weight neutral.
Zyprexa makes me crave sugar. I gained sixty pounds in 120 days while I was on Zyprexa.
I gained like 30ish pounds from Latuda, plus additional weight from Clozaril.
It feels like a necessary evil to stay sane.
Ive been gaining weight like crazy too. 14kg from Dec 2018 to Feb 2019.
I allow myself small daily indulgences and try to go for complex carbs not refined carbs.
But it hasn’t always worked. It would da been even worse otherwise I reckon…
I get the struggle. I’ve gained around 40lbs in the last year (and 90lbs total) at least in part because of meds. I’m really trying to cut back on the sugar (I’m addicted to it), but it’s so fu-cking hard. Like, I want corn pops and cookies and chocolate, but I know it’s really bad for me. I really don’t know what to do.
Talk to your doctor about it. It’s possible another med will be a better fit for you, or it’s possible the weight gain will stabilize soon. I gained about 40 lbs in a month on risperidone, and they switched me to another med that didn’t make me gain weight.
I gained about 50 pounds on Latuda and then stabilized. It really helps me but I take Geodon primarily. It’s weight neutral
Haha I’ve had a different experience on geodon, my hunger is worse than the other three meds I was on. I’m staying on it though because my positives are down drastically.
