Fumigating for bedbugs

The exterminator is coming today. We discovered them last month but we didn’t tell the management because they had already fumigated a month ago but they came back and we didn’t want to be blamed. But I have been getting bitten about three times every night which doesn’t hurt too bad but it itches like crazy. So we told the staff.

When my son was moving to Seattle, I knew they have a bed bug problem up there so I researched solutions. Try Diatomaceous Earth ( often referred to as “DE”) is an off white talc-like powder… Most hardware stores have it. Maybe even Walmart. It’s natural and non-toxic to humans and animals. You can put it in your bed, and in the floor at your bed, and around baseboards, etc.
Also, natural oils such as tea-tree oil and lavender supposedly keep them away.
I would “spin-out” under those circumstances. Good luck, @77nick77!

Thanks Hedgehog, but the management is taking care of the problems. I’m pretty sure that the professional extermenatars will not only eradicate the problem but they will also offer tips on how to prevent them. I’ve actually heard of DE by the way. Isn’t it used in gardening?

oddly, I’ve seen bed bugs in my bed. alive & dead. but I always only find one here & one there, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen any. actually, the other day I found half of one. lol. but besides that it’s been a while. I think it’s weird bc I always thought they multiply like rabbits

Are you sure they are bedbugs and not something else?

I’ve looked it up, and they look exactly like bed bugs. but I’m not 100% positive

Similar situation here. They were scheduled to come in tomorrow but we’re rescheduling bc I’m sick. We had a company come in at the beginning of August and treat the house, but were almost immediately seeing bites on the kids again. Since then we’ve seen at least a bedbug a day, so the colony is still here, probably in the walls somewhere.

I hate inviting strangers into my house, but if it gets rid of the bugs…!

If they come back AGAIN after the second treatment I’m going to ask the office to relocate us. Knowing they’re in my house drives me nuts sometimes, makes it difficult to sleep.

It’s used for all kinds of stuff, including dietary supplement. You can eat the stuff! I’m glad it’s being handled. Bugs are a huge issue for me. I have imaginary ones and go completely OCD when there are real ones

I don’t want to scare you but it might take a couple of times before they are completely rid of. a friend of my mother in law moved into a house and a month later he was seeing bed bugs. it took four times for the exterminator to come in and get rid of them. then he sold the house to my mother in laws brother and he said he things the bed bugs are gone.
