From a Dream

In the dream, I am employed at a pet shop where there happens to be an old dog from my family. My supervisor comes to me and assigns me the unenviable task of both giving Freddy a bath and trimming his toenails. So, grumbling, I draw the bath and put the poor dachshund in the water and proceed with trying to trim his nails all at once. Freddy’s maneuvers in the sink are incredibly sly and adept, and his body is like one band of muscle. I get nowhere with the nail trim, while the dog is panicking and getting more and more desperate. At a little distance, my supervisor, hanging his head, looks up and thinks there must be another way…

I also dreamed about getting involved in local blues music. These musicians had connections with the local taxi companies. As I am introduced to a few of the former, my initiation is partly to be punched as hard as possible in the gut. It is like a scene from Blue Velvet, where the kid is held by two thugs and Dennis Hopper slugs him with all his might in the abdomen… The rest of this dream I only vaguely recall, tho it was interesting.

Hey Borath. Dreams are cool. I wish I remembered my dreams more often. Hope you’re doing well.

Thanks, and you too. Actually, my motivation to do much-needed housework is starting to pick up. Long story, but I’m the owner of the cattle dog from hell. I’ve been afraid of him since he grew big five years ago. Taking out the trash has always been frightening because of his ferocious barking when I do it… Okay. I’m stuck with him, so may I make my peace with that. Take care. See you around.

may I try? I usually dont do well at interputation, but maybe I can come somewhat close.

On the first one:
The water, is emotion. The old dog, a sweet, familiar, “problem” that needs attending to. The manager, is the authorative bit of your ownself.

So, there is am old familiar problem that needs attention and you are seeking a better way. If the dog has already passed, then maybe you thought this problem did too? Maybe the last time you had this problem, the dog was living?

the second: well , thats is something that sounds like more of a continuing thought. a build-on to the first dream. I mean a punch in gut your willing to endure for the benifit of joining a club?

Maybe the second dream is the answer you gave yourself as a better way? I hope not.

It, a punch in the gut, doesnt sound better or good at all. I am hoping the second dream is more of a memory of how this problem felt the last time you dealt with it. Hopefully not a predictor.

Maybe it is a dream of losing something or someone familiar.

My silly little whim here, was I really far off?

well, I now see your post about cattle dog. The dream is no mystery now. Lol.
