A friend I met in rehab. One of the coolest people I’ve ever met overdosed and died last night on heroin. 22 years old. i don’t know what to do right now. I’ve been balling my eyes out for about a half hour straight. Really sad…Got a mid-term exam today in my class but not sure how I’m gonna do it now. Sucks.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope you get over it soon. I don’t know what to say to comfort you. I’ve lost a lot of friends too. it is still very sad to me.

Yeah I really haven’t lost many people in my life. I’ve been very fortunate so this has hit my hard. i couldn’t believe the phone call I got “_____ overdosed and he died last night”…So sad.
Really makes me wanna be sober now. Even though I wasn’t doing drugs that you can OD…it just gives me a sick feeling about getting high. It really puts in perspective life and death. Sometimes I fantasize about death, but now that it’s made a big impact on my life…it sucks. Rather be healthy than dead or in a mental hospital for life. Damn I still can’t believe it.

Thanks guys for all your responses. I just can’t imagine what’s going on in his family right now. His dad owned a restaurant and was a really nice guy…I just had a conversation with his Dad a couple weeks ago. I know it doesn’t matter what his Dad does for a living but it must be real tough for anyone. Idk. Addiction it’s a terrible disease. He was doing well…but then went right back out there and overdosed. Only takes 1 time. Listening to the good die young by Billy Joel.
I’m so sorry. Take it as a warning of what drugs can do.
I am sorry about this - I am glad that I never became addicted to drugs - I had plenty of chances, I feel bad for his family
