For who Olanzapine/Zyprexa did not work for psychosis?

It never worked for me, Dr tried up to 15mg, I was still psychotic. Did you try Clozapine? If not, what other APs worked for you?

I’ve never been psychotic before, but Olanzapine does decrease my paranoia.

What dose are you on? My Dr tried 7.5 up to 15mg but it didn’t work. They suggested Clozapine at the time but I refused the blood tests so they put me back on Abilify. Now I am on 6mg Risperdal and its working fine, better than Abilify, Latuda and Zyprexa.

I’ve been on 10 mgs for 25 years.

When I was in the hospital with severe pyschosis they had me on Haldol. I was so drugged I couldn’t function on it.

After getting out of the hospital I switched to 5 mgs of Zyprexa. I started hearing voices again but I could manage.

Since I was on such a low dose I didn’t think I needed it anymore. I quit taking it and had a severe psychotic break 30 days later.

I asked the doctor whey it took so long to have a break. He said the medication was built up and stored in my fat cells.

I went back on it when I got out of the hospital. I struggled with voices for a few years but it was manageable.

Over time I got better and learned how to manage my illness. While it’s not a cure it’s helped me.

A lot of doctor want to put patients on high doses to get symptoms under control fast.

I made the decision that if I was going to take medication the rest of my life it was going to be on my terms. It had to be a drug and a dose I could tolerate. Reason being long term side effects.

I say take what ever drug you can tolerate and if it helps stick with it long term. Slow and steady wins the race.

Me. I slept over 17 hours a day on that ■■■■ and it didnt even get rid of the voices. I was so depressed but didnt have the energy to do anything about it, which is a good thing for sure

Thats why Im happy with abilify with all its flaws. At least it isnt zyprexa

No olanzapine I think made it worse if anything… I started to believe that Satan was communicating through my roommate’s snoring.

That was a creative connection you’ve made. Scary yet imaginative!

@green5 Lol yeah… I’ve had delusional references through random sounds like that, like plates and glasses clanking giving me messages.
