My daughter was supposed to be here with us over the weekend, but she has COVID and is staying in the city so she doesn’t make us sick as well. I think I will do a beef pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, Yorkshire pudding, and sweet roasted carrots.
Oooof. Yeah, prices have sure spiked. We tend to poach deals between holidays and stick the meat in the freezer. That or we celebrate two days after and get the stuff on sale.
We are having a turkey. Not sure who of our family will all be there with the tropical storm on the way. As long as we don’t lose power mid cooking I’ll be happy.
I’m not in Canada anymore, but wow, I wanna come eat with you and your lovely wife! Yum!
Why oh why am not in Calgary anymore? Oh yeah, cause we couldnt afford it anymore even way back in 2006…and I hear the crime sucks now. Glad I’m not on the C-train these days…
Bonus points for the Yorkshire pudding. Haven’t had that since my last trip to the UK in 1995. Too long!
It has gotten bad. I think this winter will be especially bad with extra homeless who will try and live in the train stations as they are heated. I don’t blame them.
