For bipolars: do you take mood stabilizers?

Hi!
My moods are killing me sometimes. I think anxiolitics make them worse (i also have anxiety) and i dont take mood stabilizers. I tryed some but i didnt feel good.
I would like to know what medications is helping with your mood disorder… if there are any.

Abilify seems to look after everything for me, just hope it keeps working

I take abilify 20 mg And Zoloft 50 mg. For my mood. Zoloft alone would make me psychotic. But the antipsychotic stables me out. I think I’m gonna ask pdoc to raise the Zoloft. Might ask for depakote too…

I’m not on any mood stabilizers and I’m bi-polar.

I’m on Lamictal, but I’m not sure if I have bipolar disorder.

Maybe I’ll ask for lamictal because I know it has no side affects for me.

U can get rashes dude.

I’m stopping it cause I believe it’s given me 2 rashes in odd ass places

I’ve taken it before and I thought it was like a sugar pill. No side affects. No help. But maybe it’d be different now. Idk.

I am a manic depressive bipolar schizofrenic with severe social anxiety… I have to take mood stabilizers… the main one i take is lamictal. Its a black box med , but i believe it is helping some. I stll have a problem with my bipolar episodes, but I believe it is much worse with out it.

I’m jut stopping lamactil I believe it’s hampering me and I don’t even think I’m bi polar so what’s the point of taking it

O! Perhaps you should get a second opinion… Of course if you were misdiagnosed then that mght not be the best thing to be taking

And yea those rashes on lamictal… they can be fataly dangerous, I have seen some of the results of those.

I take Lithium. With rare exceptions my mood changes have not been extreme in general. I think sometimes when I’m in a mild depressed stage it show more in my self esteem and outlook than anything easily observable. I had a terrible episode a while back, not sure exactly what that was.

Anyway Lithium seems to work pretty well for me.

Yea I have 2 rashes on the inside of my thighs.

I’m convinced it’s the lamactil.

They not to bad though but they evident

I take Depakote for my mixed episodes.
I cannot function without a mood stabilizer.
One of my diagnoses is bipolar disorder.

I tryed Depakene. I got worse after taking it. Is it somehow similar to Depakote?
