OU quarterback Spencer Rattler was experiencing a slump, and his own fan publicly booed him at a football game. I mean, the guy is taking a substantial risk of physical injury, and his own “fans” can’t appreciate that. I think that when it comes to all sports the fans should stick by their players. It must be hard to balance school work with the relentless demands made on them from their sports. Personally, I would feel better about OU football if their fans stuck by the players representing them. As it is, they seem kind of soulless.

You can’t legislate people being jerks. There will always be one or two or fifty at any game.

You’re right. There is no way we could or should legislate behaviors like this. A fitting revenge for Spencer Rattler would be for his team to win a national championship. He could have pulled out of that slump if the OU fans had given him a chance. I recall seeing him conduct one drive where it looked like he was regaining his skills.
