Hey all, I was wondering if any of you have tried to lower your antipsychotic dose and if you experienced what I call “focus issues”. Basically, not being able to focus on a task and finding your mind constantly wanders to other things like thinking about the neighbors or the sounds outside. It seems like a beginning symptom of psychosis I think. Maybe it’s just my natural thoughts coming back online? I was diagnosed with ADHD ten years ago.
Could be ADHD. I was recently diagnosed with it, too, because I couldn’t focus that well. I know this is controversial in the schizophrenic community, but adderall really does help with this. But its not for everyone, I understand that. If you can tolerate it, I highly recommend nominal dose of amphetamines.
Not a bad idea! I tried Adderall but not in low doses. Rhodiola I might try as well as earlier in my illness I had some good experience with it. I thought I’d mention the focus issues that I have turn into paranoia as mind is like vigilant of the neighbors’ voices and noises.
Same for me. My comorbid illnesses all feed into each other. Its unfortunate, but luckily there’s meds and therapy.
I wonder why once I’m on a proper dose of Olanzapine, my focus issues go away? Maybe it’s like a glove fitting over the ADHD?
It could be, or maybe it just slows down your cognitive abilities that much. We don’t understand enough about these medications.
