Do anyone else have troubles with concentration, focus and memory? If you do is it the illness or the medication or just jolly old age? Im 44 and used to read two or three books a week also two movies a day. Now I can’t even read a page or sit for 20 minutes and follow a story.
Thanks in advance.
It can have too many reasons, hope you get better soon.
I suspect that it’s the illness in my case.
I have the same problem. It’s getting worse with time. It doesn’t seem to matter what meds or dose I take
For me it is mostly med dependent. Thinking a lot more clear when not on zyprexa already after one week.
All three. focus is the ADD I always had. memory is the medication even though i posted on here that it was dementia. my recall of names and such is terrible and began after starting it.
Yes, i always had them. I grew up with undiagnosed adhd.
My short term memory is terrible. I don’t know if it’s the illness, the meds, or a combination of both. And yes, it can be hard to focus. I do a lot of pacing. But I’m still able to meditate if I calm myself down.
I saw my pdoc yesterday and asked him. You were right. He said it’s the sickness not the meds. Also if it were dementia I wouldn’t be conscious of the symptoms.
There are loads of good movies and books I’ve been looking forward to. But can’t focus to settle into them.
Yes, yes, and yes. I think my mental deficits come from inactivity.
Concentration and focus= good, visual short term memory= poor,non-verbal memory= poor ,working memory-high average, short term memory-average, autobiographical memory- below average
Thanks for that…lol none of it went in. I will still like your post. I hope one day my very small brain will be able to focus and understand once more.
YES. Every time I have another big psychotic episode, it gets worse. I swear psychosis causes brain damage.
I think its the illness and meds for me since im only 29
How long have you been diagnosed?
To me this brain fog has been happening for the past two years. I’ve had poor mental health for many years but diagnosed for three maybe four years… lol I can’t remember.
At first I noticed not being able to read as avidly as I used to and thought it was my eyes going at the age of forty. But for example today I just channel hopped and used the net not looking at anything. Just killing time. Wasting it really.
I hardcore can relate. I was diagnosed in 2019 but my first episode was in 2013
For me it’s medication and age
I do have troubles with concentration, focus and memory. At one point, earlier in menopause, it was scary bad. I recovered quite a bit by taking fish oil regularly for several years. Currently I am not taking it and am considering a vegan alternative because I enjoyed such success with the fish oil but no longer want the animal product.
