My ex wife and I finally filed the divorce papers today. It took her a year to get there but it’s done. And we had a good friendly time while waiting for the attorney. I’m just so relieved. I feel like I can really start to move on now.

Getting a divorce was important for me. It’s not that I couldn’t date others or anything. I just wanted that finality about the relationship as over the years we invariably kept in touch. These days I still stay in contact with my ex and talk regularly. I think it’s important to keep in touch with my step daughter even though the relationship is long over…I’m glad your in a better place and it’s done for you.
