Feminism thread

Oh yes, and about that politician wich breastfed her baby during her speech in Sweden parliament. Honestly, political correctnes out, common sense in, i consider it a rude ■■■■■■■■. Yes i do understand all the double standards and public breastfeed shamin but i also find it rude, irresponsible, and abusing a work space for making such “a statement”. Thats what i consider an example of radical feminism.

What exactly do you find rude about a mother feeding her child?

Breastfeeding in public is whatever. If the kids hungry the kids hungry.

Feminism is fine, but not the feminists who hate transsexuals.

Yeah, TERFs aren’t really feminists.

They say that the key to curbing overpopulation is the empowerment of women, because then they can resist being used as baby machines by men.

During my senior year pep rally I put on a big white dress and danced to Dancing Queen…twice so our sister school’s students could see it as well. I’ve been called every name in the book by that point so IDGARA to putting on a dress. Was called a bundle of sticks many times.

Help! Help! I’ve been oppressed by the radical matriarchy of the maternity ward!

I don’t think it’s funny. I mean we have evolved foreskins. Why in the last 4000 years we suddenly think we know better. things

evolution is accidental, things being a certain way by default doesn’t make them better… Vestigial tails, foreskin ( which admittedly I suppose makes conception more viable?), webbed fingers, Some of these things might help an organism succeed in certain environments, but that doesn’t mean nature knows what the hell its doing.

Evolutionary accidents are rare. Selective advantages take out the selective disadvantages. What percentage of people have webbed fingers? 0.01 percent? What percentage of males have a foreskin - 100%. It is not an accident.

Sorry, I was just being silly. You’re right, of course.

idk what a feminist is, is it a lesbian that hates other men? idk personally i love women better than men and i think that makes me a feminist  women are awesome

I wish I was better with words so I could explain why feminism is so important to me as a nonbinary person. I hate how feminine is considered “weak” and masculine considered “strong”. I hate how i cant dress the way i want or wear makeup without everyone questioning me and commenting on everything I do. I hate how men arent allowed to have emotions and when they do it’s weak. And I hate how women are always portrayed as emotional wrecks just because they show emotions. It’s so screwed up on so many levels. Ahh I really wish I was better with words cause damn there’s a lot messed up with the patriarchy.

women are stronger than guys in a lot of ways maybe not physically sometimes but definitely mentally, why do you think men are more likely to develop sz earlier and all of that, women make up for it in other ways, are stronger in other ways,

some guys are conditioned to not show emotion and this is very unhealthy as people who bottle things up are more likely to develop mental illnesses etc, nothing wrong with a guy showing emotion its actually a hidden strength, Jesus wept is a phrase that gets used here occasionally as well lol.

I read a story that was absolutely ridiculous. A woman breastfed in a Victoria’s Secret and they asked her to leave for indecent exposure. They’re all for sexualizing woman however when a mother has to feed her baby that’s not allowed. What a double standard.

I think what that lady did at parliament was wonderful and will pave the way for others. Radical feminism to me is TERFS, racists that call themselves feminists, woman who hate and put down men and woman who diminish men’s issues like rape and domestic assault.

Some people might think I’m a radical feminist because I’m all for #freethenipple and slutwalks and woman reclaiming the word ■■■■.

But I disagree because my feminist is intersectional and I try not to exclude anyone, and don’t think anyone is worse then me. I also am aware of my privilege and try and educate others when ignorant things are said, without getting mad.

You express yourself well @Noise and I love what you wrote.

I have great respect for the tomboy or the gay male dressed in drag. I think people should be allowed to be themselves regardless of societal norms. I feel that diversity is great like men who cry or women firefighters. We have great potential as a species though we are slow to learn and quick to forget. Cool thread OP.

Again, nothing. But, then, tell me it’s perfectly okay if we all bring our babies to work, place them in a crib next to our office table or classroom and feed them in the very same moment as we are doing our tasks? C’mon.

Not to mention that some underprivileged woman working some not so fancy job would most likely get fired.

So it’s rude because she has a job that’s accommodating? It’s rude because it’s not fair to people with shitty jobs? That makes no sense.
