I’m pretty sure I have a yeast infection and I’m going to need to get a ride down to the pharmacy and according to my sister you can just get medicine for that, you don’t need a prescription. Is that stuff as strong as the stuff the doctor prescribes for you? She listed off some names, Monistat, Vagisil, I remember seeing commercials. My other question is, which one is best? I want the strongest one.
I hate even saying this because I know I’ll get one,
But I’ve never had a yeast infection.
However,
I’m sure that the most expensive one will work best.
Life knows it’s not always that way,
But when it comes to OTC products like that, it is.
A good way to sort it out would be to ask the pharmacist.
That’s what I would do.
Lol, my first instinct was to just buy the most expensive one, but then I thought, no I might be paying for advertising. And I am so beyond embarrassment I don’t even want to talk to the Pharmacist. Plus, he’s a dude, until he grows a vagina he really can’t tell me which one works best. lol.
Oh.
I see.
In that case, I would get the most expensive one.
You may be paying for advertising,
But it’ll likely cure your yeast infection in one go.
Buy monistat 7. It is very effective, but also sucks way more than the rx stuff because you need to insert it before bed for an entire week and lie flat for at least 4 hours. The rx stuff is just a single pill.
The 1 and 3 day over the counter ones suck and only waste your money.
And that is what I’m worried about. You hear horror stories of women who get them all the time. This is my third time, every time from antibiotics, and I don’t want to get stuck that way like other women. That’s why I want the strongest. Maybe I should just call my doctor and get the prescription kind.
You can use natural yogurt smothered on a tampon and inserted. I had a yeast infection once many years ago and used this method. You can google it.
Perfect. I will get the Monistat 7
While you are at the pharmacy buy a probiotic also. It will be expensive. But it will stop the antibiotics from causing yeast infections and colon infections.
Also heads up: it burns. Bad.
Yeah, I get yeast infections and UTI’s many times per year. It’s because I’m a type 1 diabetic, so if my blood sugar is high, the yeast or bacteria can multiply very quickly, feeding on the sugar. Do you have any type of diabetes? Diabetes increases your chance of infections.
My advice is to get a prescription from your doctor. I prefer the prescription gel stuff that you insert into your vagina via a plastic applicator. It treats the infection right at the source. I have tried the oral pills, but they have more side effects, because they are more systemic (whole body is affected), whereas the gel is just in the exact spot that needs treatment.
Good luck.
No I don’t have diabetes but I just had antibiotics and for some reason every once in awhile that throws of my system and viola, yeast.
Yeah, I understand. I get UTI’s (bacterial infection in the urinary tract) all the frickin’ time… So I have to take antibiotics for that, and then that often causes a yeast infection.
Having female anatomy is so hard.
I hope your infection clears up for you, quickly.
Thank you honey, I’m sorry you go through it all the time, it’s not very comfortable.
What does a yeast infection symotoms look like?
I do get some little discharge commonly in my underwear not sure if that is normal.
I should probably be wearing those mini mini pads?
Sorry you’ve got a yeast infection. Anything that’s an infection is annoying
Some discharge is normal. It should be clear or white-ish. If it is discolored, cottage cheese texture, or if it is extremely smelly, then it’s likely an infection. It also tends to cause itchiness.
I’ve used the quick monistat and it worked, but the regular is a better bet. I only got the quick treatment one because they were out of regular.
I’ve only had 1 which freaks out my gyno becausrI always💞s have a ton of yeast, but no infection. Just how my bodyis
Well, at my age I no longer have a discharge. I’m not menstruating or sexually active and I don’t get moist. So any moisture is out of place. So what I noticed was a moist feeling with a slight burning sensation and a slight tinge on my bladder leakage pad. I couldn’t see any obvious gunk on wiping but I can feel that there’s something going on. With on of the infections I had in the past there was a thick yellowish discharge, on that one there was no doubt. It’s the burning sensation that tells me my chemistry is off.
i had that itching sensation before it is extremely irritating.
sorry not sure which meds work best but i can tell you mine went with time.
good luck
