And it could take weeks to start the depot, then another 6 weeks after that for it to work

I feel that way about myself. I am currently having problems with a depot injection it is taking too long

Hi son. Is there a way you can take a fast acting ap until you can get the depot up and running?

Hey mum. I am so annoyed I didn’t ask for that in my appointment! Is totally what we should have done. The tablet form of my depot is very fast acting and I don’t think it would affect the start of the depot.
But my nurse is off next week and my gp isn’t qualified to make such a decision over psych meds.

Oh no! Do you think you can hold on til the week after next? I know it’s been rough. Perhaps another nurse could help you.?!?

I think I will phone the team on Monday and see if anything can be done. Slightly worried because at my last pdoc appointment my doc stressed I shouldn’t really involve the nurses over med stuff. By that I think he meant I shouldn’t ask the nurses if I can tweak med levels on my own. Fair enough - they aren’t qualified to give such advice.
But here you don’t contact your pdoc on your own. Is all through the nurses, and mines off.
But they have a duty nurse on the team who deals with stuff like this. Will contact them on Monday. I don’t want to cause a fuss though but I am struggling right now.

I’m glad you will contact them monday. It seems like a complicated system they have there. But I guess ours is the same way. I can’t contact my pdoc, I have to go through nurses as well and they can’t decide about meds either.

Yeah my pdoc was nice about it. He just said asking nurses to make decisions on meds puts them in a uncomfortable situation.

Heck, I’ve even gone to the emergency room for haldol when I felt psychotic and was waiting for a meds change. So I don’t know if that’s an option for you but it’s an idea anyway for if things go really bad. Anyway I hope you feel better and things go smoothly until you can get something. You can always come on here to vent.

We’re doing pretty good. Everyone is living through me trying to teach myself how to cook with a slow cooker. The guys have been really sweet to eat everything I’ve made even when I wouldn’t eat it. One night I just couldn’t and had a smoothie instead. But they swore it was fine, lol.

I tried making chille in a slow cooker on time. But the sauce all kinda separated and it was gross.

chili is actually on my menu for the month but I’m super nervous to try it because I don’t trust the recipe. It doesn’t call to soak the beans. I don’t know about that. Seems suspicious. Do you remember whether or not you soaked your beans?

I just got my beans out of a can. They were soaked in water in the can. Pretty sure you should soak beans
