I was pressured to eat until I was sick. Have you ever tried to discourage someone who is trying out of control to feed you past the breaking point? It’s horrible.

No. My mother was out of control. This is more bad memories. I eat sensibly now, but it doesn’t feel like it. I think like a kid - noticing that Santa must have been insecure because he ate too much.
My mother went the other way. I wasn’t fed sometimes for several days at a time. My brother was hospitalized due to vitamin deficiencies, I was hospitalized for seizures which happen when your hypoglycemic. It’s traumatic to watch someone else eat when your starving.
My father was a kid in Germany during the inflation that followed WW1. People were starving. But the Jews were smart and put their money in foreign banks so were untouched by the inflation. My father would walk by a restaurant and jews would be inside eating all they wanted. It was very difficult for my father to bare. Might be some of where anti-Semitism came from.
