Whose gonna try it ?
I will try it. As long as I could continue on my Clozapine at the same time.
My Lybalvi (Zyprexa with samidorphan) cost $2100 a month and i quit taking it cuz it sucks…so I’d be willing to try something new!
It is my understanding that, for insurance to cover it, it will have to be proven that other treatment options were not viable. It creates some gray area on how much it will actually be prescribed initially.
I dunno, I meet with my psychiatrist early November. Gonna talk to him about it. Hopefully my weight gain side effect will be enough to push it through insurance. Doubt it, but we’ll see.
I will try to see if I can change to it in November. The decreased side effects make it very worth it, to me, to at least give it a shot. My weight is ridiculous atm…
If Cobenfy works against treatment resistant schizophrenia then it would be great. Too many are still suffering despite current meds.
I really hope it works i need to lose weight im starting to feel nevous about my health
Constipation AND diarrhea? LOL. These are also the side-effects of middle age.
I’ll have to talk to my pdoc about this and see what he/she says… I’m doing okay on olanzapine…
Mixture of 2 brain zones that karxt targets, not just dopamine receptors!
Noting that I modified the subject line to include Cobenfy, the drug’s new name, and to note this is now the super thread on KarXT/Cobenfy because there will be a flood of posts on it.
Merging all recent KarXT threads into this one.

What’s up with KarXT approva ? It was set to be on 26th september.
Best regards.
It’s only the morning here for much of North America. You may want to wait until the end of the day for a press release.
Thank you. I am from Europe and it is 6 P.M. here.
Approval with new name.
Cobenfy twice daily with liver warning.
Is it worse on cardio then other AP’s? I know pretty much every AP can be bad for your heart. Does karxt stand out as being particularly bad for your heart or is it pretty normal when compared to other AP’s?
Off the top of my head hypertension was the issue
Bing says
Yes, KarXT (a combination of xanomeline and trospium) has been associated with an increased rate of hypertension in clinical trials. In the EMERGENT-3 trial, 6% of patients in the KarXT treatment group experienced hypertension compared to 2% in the placebo group⁴. This is not unusual for muscarinic agonists⁴.
If you have any concerns about this medication, it’s best to discuss them with your healthcare provider. Is there anything else you’d like to know?

KarXT was a super name. Cobenfy is a poor marketing name!
Are you a fan of the old mnemonic system called “the major system?”
If we convert the consonants to Cobenfy to digits via the major system, we get: 7928
Those consonants can then be converted back to many combinations of vowels with similar consonants. The major system can be fun.
The 7 can be converted to a G in instead of a C, for instance, and an o can be added to make the word ‘Go.’
The 9 could even be converted to a P.
Here is a definition of “peen” from Google:
noun
- the end of a hammer head opposite the face, typically wedge-shaped, curved, or [spherical]
“a ball-peen hammer”
Given my experience with how Invega softened several aspects of my persona for several years, possibly due to its great dopminergic-related stuff, I propose a new urban dictionary name for Cobenfy:
Cobenfy → 7928 → Go peen foe!
